The most-asked question from wedding guests after “what should I wear?” is “where should we stay?” Reed Ranch is genuinely rural — we’re 1 hour west of Spokane and 8 minutes north of the small town of Davenport. That means lodging options range from “on the property under the stars” to “a hotel in Spokane the night before.” Here’s the full picture, in roughly the order most guests choose.

1. Camping on the property

The most-loved option, and the one I’d recommend if any part of you is tempted. The whole property is yours for the weekend; bring a tent or trailer and you wake up where the wedding is. No shuttle, no taxi, no scrambling for an Uber at 11 PM. Plenty of room for everyone who wants to camp.

Couples almost always have a contingent of guests who camp — typically the wedding party, close family, and the friends who own gear. It’s a different kind of celebration when half your favorite people are still around the fire at midnight.

Full details on what to bring are in our guest packing guide.

2. Davenport, WA — the closest town

Davenport is 8 minutes south of the ranch. It’s a small town — population about 1,700 — with a handful of lodging options, mostly small inns and vacation rentals. Quiet, walkable downtown, decent local coffee in the morning, and a 5-mile drive back to us.

Hotels & inns

Vacation rentals (Airbnb / Vrbo)

Davenport has a small but growing Airbnb scene — mostly 2–4 bedroom houses owned by locals. Best for groups of 4–10 traveling together. Search the Davenport area on Airbnb or Vrbo 6+ months out for the best selection on summer weekends.

Note: specific lodging recommendations rotate as places open and close. We send couples our current best list when they book.

3. Spokane — for guests who want a hotel and a city

Spokane is an hour east of the ranch and has every hotel chain you’d expect, plus a handful of boutique options. Many out-of-town guests stay in Spokane the night before, drive in for the wedding day, and either drive back that night or camp at the ranch after. It works either way.

4. Coeur d’Alene — for guests who want the lake

About 30 minutes east of Spokane, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho is a resort town on a beautiful alpine lake. It’s a longer drive to the ranch (90 minutes from CDA), but some guests stretch the weekend into a small vacation. The Coeur d’Alene Resort is the iconic option; smaller lake-area rentals are widely available.

5. Group blocks & recommendations

If you’re inviting 15+ out-of-town guests, it’s worth asking one of the Spokane hotels for a wedding block. Most chains will offer 5–10% off the regular rate for a 10+ room block, and the booking codes make it easier for guests. The Historic Davenport, the Ruby, and any of the chains will set one up for you with a phone call.

For couples who book with us, we share our current recommended-lodging list as part of the welcome guide — it changes with the seasons and as places open and close.

A simple recommendation for your save-the-date

Most couples include a tiny lodging section on their wedding website. A version that works:

Reed Ranch is a one-hour drive west of Spokane in Davenport, WA. Camping on-site is encouraged (bring a tent or trailer). Hotels are available in Davenport (8 minutes from the venue) and Spokane (60 minutes). We’ve listed our favorites at [your website link]. For carpooling between the hotel and the venue, see our group thread.

That covers it. Two sentences and a link — guests will figure out the rest.
